Sweet & Salty Granola

Purchasing pre-packaged granola is great in a pinch, but it can be loaded with added sugars and ingredients. Make your own homemade granola right at home with ingredients you likely have in your pantry. It hardly takes any time at all, lasts for over a week and is much more cost effective!

Ways to Eat Sweet & Salty Granola

There are an endless amount of ways to eat granola, but here are just a few of my favorites.

  • With yogurt
  • On top of cooked oatmeal
  • On a smoothie bowl
  • With a bowl of fresh fruit
  • By itself!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp almond butter – can sub any nut butter
  • 1 ⅓ c old fashioned oats
  • ½ c unsweetened coconut flakes
  • ½ c peanuts
  • ⅓ c chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt
  • ⅓ c chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large microwave safe bowl, combine honey, coconut oil and almond butter. Heat for 30 second intervals in the microwave and stir in between.
  • When honey mixture is well combined, stir in oats, coconut flakes, peanuts and pecans. Stir until mixture is evenly coated.
  • Spread an even layer of granola on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper for easy clean up.
  • Sprinkle sea salt on top of the granola layer.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown, stirring halfway through.
  • Once the granola is baked, let it cool completely and add chocolate chips.
  • Store in an airtight container in a pantry. Best if enjoyed within one week of baking.
