Everyone has their favorite place to get guacamole, but mine is right at home. It’s because of the secret ingredient my husband discovered to put into our guac one day, and there’s been no turning back since!

So what is the secret ingredient?

Cumin! A spice most households have on hand, but one many would never think to use to put into their guacamole. It really just brings an extra burst of flavor to your guac unlike any other. Once you try it, you will forever be adding cumin to your homemade guacamole too.

The Freshest Ingredients

I find that having very fresh cilantro, red onion and jalapeno really makes a difference on the sharpness in flavor for your guacamole. Don’t sit on those veggies all week and wait to make this. Spice up any night of the week while those veggies are fresh with guacamole to top your tacos or just to eat your weight in chips with.

Make It Custom

Like it spicier? Don’t be shy and add that whole jalapeño! Prefer no cilantro because somehow you’re one of those people where it tastes like soap? Ditch the cilantro! Prefer it chunky? Don’t mash those avocados into smoothie texture!

Don’t be shy on making this guacamole your own. You never know what you might find as your favorite secret ingredient for making guac at home!
