Making the perfect asparagus is no easy task. It can quickly get mushy if overcooked. It cools off so fast that it needs to be prepared as your other dinner items are being finished. Sometimes it can be stringy depending on where you cut the ends. It’s just not as straightforward as you would think…until the air fryer.

The air fryer really is my favorite small appliance of 2019. My only downside of it is that it’s bulky and not the easiest to store in the cabinet so I keep it at the bottom of our pantry. The air fryer though cooks things in a faster time, it gives that crispy taste without actually frying something and it can cook anything from veggies to different meats to desserts. Using my air fryer for asparagus was a no brainer.

Throwing asparagus in the air fryer, or any vegetable for that matter, leaves it crispy in all the right places and tender, yet firm where it counts. The end result is a flavorful veggie side with a seasoned flare.

The most challenging part of the whole process is that my pee smells for the rest of the day!
